Who thinks they are Mother Theresa for doing this?

the *vast* majority of ordinary people doing it are doing it because they find seeing videos of their friends and family getting soaked with cold water amusing. And they're doing a bit of good along the way.

Those very same people probably also pay a few quid to other charities throughout the year without saying a word - sponsoring mates, Comic Relief, charity shop donations etcetc.

Yes, some of the celebs are no doubt doing it to look good, but ordinary people seeking 15 seconds of fame by posting a video to their Facebook friends? No.
