buy a moto g 4g and go sim free would be a great option (though you've said not wanting pay much up front - would be ery cheap in the long run and flexible)

LG G2 - with the new one out you could snag this quite cheap. But dont let it being last years model put you off, amazing phone

Xperia Z2 - its a beast, but you may get it on a decent deal. Awesome battery life and spec should keep you going for the contract.

Nexus 5 - still a great phone, though the battery life kinda sucks (its what I'm using atm).
