However, there are clear differences between these situations. The three players that you mentioned committed undoubtedly despicable criminal acts for which they were rightly punished. Moreover, at least one of them (Hughes) has demonstrated considerable remorse for his actions and, in my opinion, shouldn't be stopped from pursuing a career in those circumstances. As AB noted, Ched Evans is a different story.
But these crimes all happened outside the footballing arena. Mackay and Moody have been shown to have behaved completely inappropriately by discriminating against a number of different groups *in the course of their job*. That is why they're now 'virtually unemployable'. We can debate the rights and wrongs of those other three returning to the sport, but personally I see no link between those cases, other than that all these actions figure on the general spectrum of appalling things to do.
