Stoke owner on Redmond

"We met Norwich's asking price, but the club didn't want to sell and I don't have any quarrel with Norwich for that

Er why did we put a price on him if we weren't prepared to sell for it? Did Adams over rule the board? Or was it Redmond not wanting to go there so told us to decline it.
