Ok the likes of Liverpool and Man United had very dominant spells so perhaps the title race now is a bit more open but the ability of the smaller clubs to genuinely compete was much, much better.

Thats not just because we were good but the likes of us, Ipswich, QPR, Villa, Cov, leeds, Blackburn all in the mix right at the top of the table. Ok the latter due to cash but even that was relative small fry compared to today;s finances.
