why is it pointless

speculation and wild optimism is what football is all about

We will be there or thereabouts for automatic promotion - play offs at worst

If they lose Bent , Kuqi , Miller , Davis and 1 or two others , why can;t they do a Forest and drop like a stone into the lower reaches and hopefully disappear without trace
