When you read the pinkun article with full Adams' quotes it's ambiguous.

He never says Pilks had a niggle, just that he didn't train on Friday. Obvs it's inferred he has a niggle. The actual niggle was in reference to hooper's calf.

Paddy conflated the two issues, but Adams never said Pilks was injured/niggled.
