If & When Ashton Leaves...

I'd like to see him going to Man City.

Birmingham were dire yesterday, but, at the same time, Man City still had to win, and they won very well. Pearce is assmbling a great squad there, young, hungry players (B Wright-Phillips, Flood) as well as improving and getting a lot out of some that might have drifted out of the game (Barton) & they way they play the game is good to watch, Deano would certainly get the service there.

Early days yet, but Pearce looks like becoming a very very good manager in the making.

As for Fowler coming here, I can't see it-unless he wants to settle down; he certainly isn't in need of the cash & he might see Norwich as a good place to enjoy seeing out his career, its not that far from Newmarket (& Fakenham, Yarmouth) for his horses & he was mates with Huckerby when they were at Leeds, if Hucks has told him to come along here and enjoy himself, it gives it a wee bit of credibility-but I'd still say 90:10 against.

Was tempted to ring up ITV this morning when their arse of a reporter said "...three million is enough to do it..." as regards someone getting Ashton, think that, despite Worthy holding out and saying it has to be "big" money, we'd take ?6 million PLUS a decent player in p/e.

With Green reckoned to be on his way to Wigan, thats a bit of a warchest Worthington might have his hands on, be afraid, be very afraid-I certainly am!
