how is Norwich a top UK shopping destination?

Just walked through the Mall, half the units are empty or the business is closed. I cant believe it and I haven't been down gentlemens walk yet but I hear hmv are/were going. Still a bit hear but If I were to go shopping I would probably be tempted online or head to lakeside/Westfield
