I'm looking forward to the new season and

getting excited by the anticipation of going to games and enjoying it again, rather than going out of a sense of duty and because I've got a season ticket.

I was chatting with a West Ham mate on Saturday, and he too voiced his indifference to playing in the Premier League. Said he enjoyed watching the Hammers more in the Championship as it was "more competitive and fun".

Of course you want to see your team play the best sides, but the Premier League has created the most uncompetitive, soulless, joyless league in the world. Unless you're one of the Top 4-5 teams, you're playing, not to challenge, but to survive. Your playing, not to win, but to not lose. No wonder there's so much negative, cynical football in the top flight... leading to a s**t international side. Once the novelty of the Premier League wears off, it divides us fans, and then it divides us even more.

This season we can be competitive. We can challenge. For the first time in three seasons, we won't be riding the kids slide in the park... we'll be gripped by the rollercoaster ride of something to enjoy again. Bears in the concrete. Looking forward to the walk to Carrow Road. Enjoying a day out at the football. Fans uniting again and getting right behind our team.

Football is back. Bring it on.
