Honestly, I don't see how anyone can equate the two scenarios

Ricky came here as our record 10m? signing with an international reputation and was expected to do very well. In the end, he scored one goal in 25 games with one of the worst chance conversion rates in the league and barely completing a pass all season.

Iwan was a decent Championship striker for whom we paid a decent Championship fee at the time. He had an average season in a terrible team but clearly demonstrated that he could indeed perform, as indeed he did. There's just no similarity between the two situations at all in my opinion.
