I haven't watched much of it to be honest

But there's a very clear reason for that in my mind.

The London Olympics was the greatest sporting event in the history of the world and this feels like a poor imitation in comparison. It's hard to shake the nagging feeling that some of the events are a bit like the Boat Race when compared to their world class equivalents.

Fair play to Glasgee though. Looks like they've put on a good show, everyone is working their balls off and the crowds at Hampden have been spectacular.

So it would be churlish to be *too* down on it.
