He didn't pass it to Hazard, he miscontrolled a good cross on his weaker foot.

Hazard hedged on the ball ending up on that side (great movement and anticipation).

Could just as easily have been snuffed out. It's a mistake, it happens. Plenty of our players past and present would have shanked it in themselves, let it through their legs and tripped up etc. it's not the mistake you're making it out to be.
