29 July 2014, 13:26 - There is a big chance that Ricky van Wolfswinkel will not play in the Championship with Norwich City next season. The former striker of amongst others FC Utrecht is, according to his agent, interesting two clubs and van Wolfswinkel himself is not eager to play in the second level of English football.
"They are clubs outside of England and the Netherlands. But the difference between the offers and asking prices are considerable enough that I don't expect a quick decision. Norwich City is prepared to sell but they do want to get a considerable transfer fee. Therefore a lot of clubs are not able to meet the demands. For Ricky it has to be attractive on a technical football level as well as the financial level.", according to Louis Laros in his interview with Voetbal International.
The 25-year old Van Wolfswinkel scored only one goal in 25 appearances last season. Eventually Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League. A speedy departure is also not impossible. "They would prefer to sell him than loan him out. Ricky is one of the highest paid players at the club. But if he does stay he will get the chance to compete for a starting place - Norwich have given him that assurance. However, the Championship is still not the stage on which he would prefer to play footballt", according to the agent.
