The Russian media is fascinating on this

Most Russians almost certainly believe it was some kind of anti-Russian conspiracy. Meanwhile, people very close to the top in Russia (I mean Kudrin, but there are others too) are publically voicing concerns over isolationism and business impacts of all of this. I think that's really quite significant.
