Led to the invention of techno (which may or may not be good, depending on yr opinion)

but spawning a genre is quite an impressive achievement (unless that genre is bhangra). Did a lot to get people listening to a lot of amazing German music - from Can to Stockhausen - too. And did much to legimitise the use of electronics in popular music.
