I don't think people mind that he can't tackle. They do mind him giving the ball away so much (by so so passing and being caught in possession), slowing moves down with unneccessary 360 degree turns and being unable to shoot for toffee.
It's his frequent lack of effectiveness, not his lack of physicality, that is his problem (hence why Bradders gets at least as much criticism as Wes, even though no one could accuse him of lacking physicality)
