Do you look just at results (ie. a win at Crewe) or do you look at things like tactics, team selections, formations, transfers, the things the manager says in public about players?
I'm just wondering because I like to think I know a bit about football. I've obviously never played professionally but I have played for 30 years and I've also watched thousands of games. I also like to think of myself as reasonably intelligent and able to see what is and isn't working on a football pitch.
The Worthy in-ners just appear to be happy to blindly and unquestioningly accept whatever the manager does or says in the belief that "he knows best". Just because Hitler was in charge of Germany, did he know best? Not suggesting a comparison in the gravity of the situations obviously, but the principle is the same - that people in positions of power are not always right purely because they hold that position of power.
Personally, I not only like to see Norwich win but I like to see them do it playing in the right way. That is with players in their proper positions, passing the ball and with some element of flair, something which, Hucks apart, Worthy has tried to all but eradicate from the current squad.
I don't think Nigel Worthington is a very good football manager or coach (and I don't care what badges he's got - how hard can that be for god's sake?) and he's also not a very intelligent or charismatic man.
He also criticises his players in public rather than take any responsibility himself - the biggest sign of a weak man. Note how Curbishley, when he was under pressure recently, took full and public responsibilityfor their results. Note how Ferguson, one of the greatest managers of all time, never, ever criticises his players in public.
I suppose I'm trying to say that I don't care if we recover and finish top 10 this season, I will still think that NW is not the man for the job.
End of.
