I didn't see the post in question but I can infer enough from what's here.

WOTB is a community, albeit an online one, and when someone steps over the line in terms of behaviour it does need pointing out.

In the same way if someone made a racist remark on a train to another passenger I wouldn't sit there awkwardly, I'd make a fuss about it.

Staying quiet is the same as accepting what's been said, and sometimes that's not the right thing to do.
