Firstly, I agree, it's not ok for Thorne to be in constant poor form of course - it is unacceptable - and he should be dropped if it continues. My point concerning Thorne is that historically he has cut it at this level. And unless he is completely over the hill (which I'm saying he isn't giving him the benefit of the doubt), as form is termporary, and talent permanent, he will begin to show us why he has been successful at this level. Plus, he isn't being helped by the general performance/lack of ability in our midfield. But he has looked okay at winning long balls, something Ashton isn't so good at.
As for Jarvis, he has no track record to show. He has to create one and show people that he is good enough for this level. And as the first team players have proven themselves, you need to prove you are better than them. But young players only get into poor teams (as first teamers aren't producing), or when first team players get injured/suspended. And when your chance comes along - YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOU CAN DELIVER. You will not get many chances. And I'm not convinced Jarvis has taken his chances. He's hardly set the world on fire when he's played. He needs to do something to make him undroppable. And he simply hasn't. Bellamy only needed a few games to start bagging goals, and showing pace and edge - he was undroppable when he emerged. Jarvis sadly hasn't convinced.
