This is from the BBC:

Charlton's Jay Bothroyd will undergo tests in hospital after a blackout led to him crashing his car.
The 23-year-old had a similar blackout six years ago.

A statement from Charlton chief executive Peter Varney said: "We are very concerned. The car was travelling at about 10mph when it hit a post.

"Jay has no recollection of the entire event. He will now undergo neurological tests to establish why this second blackout has occurred."

Bothroyd joined the Addicks just before the end of the August transfer window from Italian club Perugia and has scored two goals in his nine appearances.

This is from The Sun:

RISING football star Jay Bothroyd was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs last night.
The Charlton Athletic striker, 23, was held after crashing his Porsche into a lamp post.

A source said the Premiership player was ?acting strangely and not very coherent?. He added: ?His car was badly damaged and he didn?t really seem to know what was going on.

?His eyes were very dilated but he didn?t seem to have been injured.?

Paramedics were first at the scene in Elstree, Herts, responding to a call saying a car had crashed.

They examined Bothroyd. Police confirmed a man was arrested on ?suspicion of driving unfit due to drugs?.

Ex-Arsenal player Bothroyd has appeared for England under-21s and was hailed a future star after signing from Italian club Perugia in August.
