Neyul is new to management (not his fault as all he did was go for an interview and the Board appointed him) and has asked the club to pay a retainer to Joe so he can "officially" utilise his knowledge. They obviously have respect for one another and so while I wasn't happy with Neyuls appointment I'm happier knowing he has experience to call upon.
Many managers say in interviews that they ring another manager for advice from time to time so it's nothing new. I wouldn't expect Joe to be down this way for every game live but will no doubt watch recordings of the games and then offer advice where he thinks he can add value. The man is still highly regarded by Man City fans for what he did prior to the billionaire era and used to know his way out of this league. Things have moved on but this is Norwich not a top four Premiership side.
Time will tell I guess.
