It seems that Worthington's influence is starting to spread throughout the club. Although we were unlucky to lose, it had Worthington stamped all over it.
Seemed we had set out to play for penalties from the start. Went a goal up and then sat far too deep. Asmat up front looked more isolated than Ashton. When behind in extra time we still kept it 1 up front, and in true Worthy style we waited till 2 mins from the end to throw Joe Lewis up front. To be fair though, he looked more of a threat than Thorne.
There were positives though.
Spillane is quality and I would love to see him play on Sat, or start to appear on the bench. He can play in defence or midfield which should appeal to Worthy.
Also thought Gusterson(?) at CB was comfortable on the ball.
Asmat El Ouargri(?) looked good, nice close control but needed more support.
Chris Martin also showed good skill on the ball in midfield, but I thought he was a striker.
Jarvis also good.
The rest seemed very small but all worked hard and I would have any of them in the team ahead of the likes of Brennan, Robinson, Hughes, Thorne etc.
