Thanks for the wisdom of the Wrath on the A3

I did consider the Golf, but I want lots of add ons to make the 3 1/2 hour drive home from Norwich on wet winter evenings more comfortable and safe - I've given up foreign holidays and diverted what I used to spend on them to the football, so adding some luxury is part of the plan.

I will go back and look at the Golf and the Volvo this weekend before I make my decision. I drive automatics, so that also makes the Audi a good choice, particularly as the reputation of the Golf DSG gearbox is not so good.
