ha, I doubt it's that

the reality is that we're not the best available job on the market and the best candidates will be talking to the likes of West Brom first, and only when the dust has settled on the Prem jobs available (and anything else that they open up as a result) will we have a firmer idea of who is available.

That or we appoint someone who isn't interested/doesn't think they have a shot at a Prem job. Not sure I would want a manager who doesn't consider himself to be that good though...
