Great trip to Crewe today as usual, short journey, top chips, and meeting up with Canaries who've we've not seen for a while.
For the first 10 minutes, we looked like the home side, and should have scored, then Crewe showed us how to do it. Catastrophic play by Hughes, who lost the ball, and Crewe scored. The rest of the first half was pretty dismal, misplaced passes, no confidence and no understanding of what system they were supposed to be playing. McVeigh, Ashton and Docherty were the only ones giving anything. Andy Hughes, he talks a good game, I've yet to see anything from him, he was absolutely hopeless.
Second half, better when Hucks came on (and Hughes went off), we went 4-4-2, looked comfortable, better understanding, and above all width. In the end we won, deservedly, but why was the first half played with the square pegs in the round holes?
Big applause for: Deano, all over the park; McVeigh, ran his heart out, deserved his goals; Hucks, not fit but scared them; Dickson, better 2nd half.
We've not turned the corner yet, but hopefully we know where the corner is. After today, seeing how things changed (Hucks & 4-4-2) does Nigel?
The first away win I've seen in 18 months, I'm delighted for the Club (and especially for Sebastian!); Nigel, Sir, I remain to be convinced.
