I'll share something personal....

A few years ago I corresponded with some Chinese ladies from a similar website as I was getting divorced and used to work and live in China. It soon became obvious that the website (like the one you're talking about I presume) was a con as whoever you corresponded with you got the same poor English responses with the same expressions and text. I envisaged an office with multiple email addresses and a group of people answering emails from the blokes who'd spent money on a joining fee. Fairly easy to get the photos of "pretty ladies" who want to love you long time I guess.
