It gave the Chelsea defenders something different to think about as Elmander was never going to create anything up top on his own in a game like that.
The perceived slack Adams is getting compared to Hughton can be summed up in one game - West Ham away. Hughton showed his classic 'play for a point' stance and it cost us a game we should have won. The subs yesterday had a positive effect on our performance and increased our chances of nicking the three points on the break.
The only thing I would have done differently was to put Bennett on in the last ten so we had another player with pace up top, but I understand why he didn't get a chance with his long injury.
Back to lurking.
