...is probably just the lawyers saying there's not much of a case, and why spend tens of thousands on lawyers before you actually need to?

I have something this on at the moment at work, but the client is hell bent on pisisng money away on legal fees because the management team need to show their Board and other stakeholders that they are doing 'something'.
