Not just that

The eldest had already had 2 miscarraiges and an abortion. Even if the school had failed dismally you'd think after the first pregnancy the mum could've had a word.

But then when a father would have to earn topside of 30k a year to give them a comparable income (and thats without worrying about how to find an affordable house) the question isn't why do they do it but why does anyone work ?
