RVW and Fer for example were reputedly on the fringe of getting into the world cup squad with Holland. I recall Hooper's name being mentioned in the same sentence as 'England call-up' at one point in the season too. Redmond has generally been a disaster, although it cannot have been part of the plan to have played him so much and therefter, with the honourable exception of Olsson, the recruitment policy fell apart and the loans were utter tosh.
