It's far more that 1) Whoever replaced Fergie was always on a hiding to nothing

2) He just doesn't know how to manage a club of that stature. The higher someone goes in football, the harder it gets.

It's the revisionism of football fans - you did great for 11 years in your previous job, left fantastic foundations and the fans were gutted to see you go; but now your successor's done better for just 1 year, while you are clearly s**t because this was just the wrong move for you completely - that drives me nuts.

He's a VERY good manager. He's just not up to a club of that stature.
