But what you're saying misses the point about one of the clearest

fundamentals of football i.e. possession! Saying you haven't got the players to keep possession isn't much different to saying you haven't got the players to tackle. If you don't retain possession then you ain't gonna score goals and win games. All players of a similar standard have the ability to retain possession just like they can tackle. It's how they're coached not whether they 'have the ability'.
