he's sort of right about the vision

especially if you're behind a goal and it's down the other end of the pitch. though you can also see stuff that isnt picked up on telly, especially if you watch behind the goal, totally different perspective on players runs etc

but being in the ground will always trump telly. though every now and then you get a great communal experience in the pub (certain world cup games for me, or the games v wolves in the playoffs in 2002)
