I thought I'd seen some blurb that other US sources had verified the images?

The images released are from a commercial satellite - it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the Septics have re-tasked one of their (much better) satellites to search that area too.

I doubt the Aussies wouldn't be expending this much effort if they didn't have either better satellite data, or some form of tracking data from the Jindalee radar station, as corroboration.

That said it could be a false positive again (is that part of the ocean cold enough for remains of icebergs to be present?)
