my thoughts

it seems a bit 'busy' - when i load up the front page i dont know where to click or what to look at first. i would look at making it simpler - personally i would want the latest pieces of original content - match reports/previews/ whatever - to be the lead items on the site, maybe with a headline and the opening paragraph on show that you click through to the full piece.

the forums and everything else can come after that, but it's that content that will bring people in and back to the site if it's decent.

not sure whether you need things like the widgets with scores and fixtures really. they just clutter it up a bit and wont tell 99% of people anything they dont know or wont find out somewhere else first.
