Very much so.

Disagreed with him on lots of things. But one of a class of Labour politicians like Malcolm Wicks and Chris Mullin who were more concerned with being honest about what they thought, and thoughtful about what they believed, than votes-at-all-costs. Not many of those on any side of the political divide any more.
