Streetlife are very good, Pedal Revolution on Bethel Street have a big selection but service is unpredictable - can be very helpful or just rude, depending. However, despite the fact that you have to go to Halford's to get them, don't rule out a Boardman bike - for quality of frame and components they are a very good deal.

Incidentally, a lot of the bike sites, like road.cc reckon that aluminium frames nowadays are as good as carbon and twice as trendy.
