I don't agree that it was a poor sub

unnecessary you could argue, but also this was Wes's third game since Sunday, after not having played for over a month. Perhaps he was also running out of energy.

I take your point though that some of Hughton's subs in the past have ceded the initiative. I don't believe this was one of them though.
