Have you read Nick Hornby's passage on Heysel in Fever Pitch?

Quite interesting - basically states that the behaviour of the Liverpool fans was normal, even quite tame, by English standards of the mid-70s to mid-80s. The problem was that the Belgian police weren't prepared, the Italian fans had no idea how to react and the stadium was falling apart.

And Hornby's section on Gus Caesar is one of my favourite pieces of football writing.

Oh, and Berlin, before you scoff, I was 13 when I read it, OK? :)
