I suppose I'd call it 'hopeful' more than optimistic.

As in anything can happen, the ball is round etc.

Pragmatically all the evidence suggests we should lose - but I'm really hopeful that the West Ham defeat and the 10 days off will have focused the mind and we will come out fighting.

Optimistis? No, not right now. But hopeful. Genuinely hopeful.
