What's the best way to say this?

basically someone sent me an email to deny a verbal biz agreement that we had made so I later gave them a call.

I wanna say sumut like "It was good to speak to you earlier today to clarify a few things.

For the benefit of clarity in order that there is no misunderstanding following your earlier email:"

Then a reminder of what has been agreed. What's the best way of me saying the bit in quotes?
