Over-achievement. Amazing that a side that limited reached the last 16, beat Barca en route, and almost got a draw in Camp Nou too. And to achieve that, Lennon and Celtic were tactically brilliant - exactly as we need to be against the top Prem sides we have in the run-in.
But citing his domestic success as proof of how good he is is absolutely f**king ridiculous. I can't believe phrankin has been slagged off for pointing this out.
It is IMPOSSIBLE, literally impossible, for Celtic not to win the league. The SPL is the only league in Europe where everyone already knows the winner before a ball is even kicked. That's why the authorities (sic) are desperate to shoehorn Rangers back into it, regardless of whatever shenanigans they get up to off the pitch.
It was bad enough as a permanent 2 horse race (which it's been ever since 1986, for God's sake) - but as a 1 horse race, Scottish football is dead. Did you know the league hasn't even got a sponsor FFS?
And Lennon himself will know things will get far, far tougher once Rangers return; and that in Europe, the odds just keep getting longer, especially as Scotland's coefficient falls. Hence him looking to get out while his star is still high. But there remain significant doubts about him: in many ways, his most appealing quality is that, in terms of personality (all fire and brimstone), he's the anti-Hughton.
