Good post Old Man, and of course you're right, you have to judge by the morality of the

time but I'm so happy times have changed!

I've been following the DLT case with interest. I can understand how difficult it would be to get a conviction for what he was accused of thirty years ago. But his case (and the others we've seen post Saville) reminded me of how difficult it was at times to grow up as a teenage girl in the 1970s. There was a horrible, pervasive, casual sexism that you just had to put up with. Groping, leering and sleezy remarks were all fair game amongst some men at the time.

I think why I loved Punk and New Wave so much was that freeing feeling that you didn't have to accept it. And girls on TOTP didn't have to look like Legs and Co but they could look like Poly Styrene or Gaye Advert or Fay Fife off of The Rezillos!
