Just had a horrible thought

- This time next year, we'll be mid-table in the Championship

- McNally will have resigned in the summer. Chairman Alan Bowkett releases a statement declaring "our first chance is our best chance"; the club shop releases a new line of "on loan to the Championship" t-shirts

- Archant will be bigging up our play-off prospects despite us being 8 points off the top 6 and playing like absolute s**t

- Mick McCarthy's Ipswich will be surging towards the title

- Those key players retained in the summer will have been sold in January

- Anyone on here questioning the board, or manager Malky Mackay's style of play will be told that they are "c**ts", who "want us to fail so they are proved right"

- After a 2-0 defeat away to Leyton Orient, Mecagoenti will state that we are "competing well", and "really couldn't ask for more". He'll blame "unrealistic expectations", because after all, "most sides relegated from the Prem don't go back up"

- He'll take solace in us being "well run", and applaud the board for the "stability we have enjoyed"

- Others will blame "modern football", say "it's just not fair" and that "the Premier League is s**te anyway"

- And I will be GENUINELY BAFFLED at the complacency around the club - and feel a CRUSHING SENSE OF DESPAIR. :( :( :(
