I think I must be a little bit thick

I understand that the club is run along the principle of "good old-fashioned common sense". Simpleton that I am, when comparing the performances of Messrs Edworthy and Colin yesterday I couldn't quite see how that principle had been applied. Perhaps one of the lickspittles or Pollyannas might enlighten me?
