... if we win it, it won't be a turning point. Lets face it, when teams play in any cup competition, league form becomes irrelevant and plays no part whatsoever.

Look at what happened when we came up against Birmingham in the Carling Cup: They won their first home game of the season and we gave a decent account of ourselves away from home against Premiership opposition. Following that, both sides resumed their crap league form.

If we win it, wonderful, but lets face it, it won't be a turning point and normal service shall be swiftly resumed.
