I have little doubt that themain reason why the Board are not dismissing Worthy is the cost implication of doing so which will alsoinvlove getting ridof his coaching staff.
Worthie is on a year on year rolling contract and therefore we have to give him a years notice to avoid being in breach of contract which would effectively mean paying up his contract. Ipswich sacked Burley with immediate effect and hoped that he would get another job before the end of the notional notice period so that they wouldn`t have to pay him the entire notice period wages. As it turned out he didnt get another job and they eventually had to pay him.
Norwich could do that , hope against hope that he finds another job and as an insurance policy if necessary sell a player in the transfer window ( Green , Huckerby , or Saffri the most likely ) to fund the inevitable payoff.
I think the Board should make it clear that they have lost confidence in him and invite him to go offering say a six month payoff. If he refuses sack him; promote David Williams as caretaker manager ,look for a long term manager and await events. As for his coaching team, promoting David Williams as manager will side line them and they may be amenable to a pay off offer or wait until the new manager has been found and pay them off when he brings in his own team. David Williams has in any event the potential to do a great job as NCFC team maager and if he is successful in the interim then he could get the job long term thus saving the club the substantialmoney that it would take tobuy in a new management team.
