I've been a strong supporter of the manager up to this point, but enough is enough. The board believe that you don't become a bad manager overnight. True. He's been becoming a bad manager for the past 18 months.
Worthington had the chance to prove himself when we were promoted, so what did he do? He broke up a solid central defensive partnership, let a legend walk away without replacing him and bought in players who weren't even close to being up to speed in the Premiership by the time the season started, because he brought them in late. Let's not forget his refusal to drop Gary Holt, despite the fact that he clearly couldn't cut it; he dropped Bentley because of his petulence despite it being detrimental to the team; the list goes on.
I travel from Sunderland to Norwich for every home game at great personal expense, both in time and obviously money and right now, I feel robbed.
We need a big name manager now, not an internal promotion and not some unproven up and coming manager. Take the risk - West Brom did and whose shoes would you rather be in now?
I love this club Delia - don't break it now!
