my wife used to get taken up lots with her Dad (RAF helo instructor)

this was all back in the pre health & safety era though.

When I was a pseudo-army brat, we used to get school trips up to the AAC hangars and had Father Christmas land in our school playing field in a Gazelle helicopter. That was pretty cool, but ruined somewhat by the gizzit being a bloody orange rather than sweeties!
